Today, we will review Vicky Kaushal's film Chhava. The story of this film is based on the life of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, who was the son of Shivaji Maharaj. Shivaji used to call him Chhava (cub/young lion). After Shivaji's death, Sambhaji fought against the Mughal ruler Aurangzeb and sacrificed his life to protect the Maratha Empire. The film depicts his bravery, sacrifice, and struggle.
The film's story keeps you engrossed. The writing is so powerful that you won't even want to blink. The war scenes are extremely thrilling and grand. The cinematography is amazing, every frame is worth watching. A. R. Rahman's background score makes the film even more impactful. Vicky Kaushal is the heart and soul of this film; because of him, we feel the might of Sambhaji Maharaj in the movie. Vicky Kaushal's dialogue delivery is fantastic.
Rashmika Mandanna has been impressive in the role of Yesubai; her chemistry with Vicky Kaushal is worth watching on screen. Akshay Khanna has played a small but excellent role as Aurangzeb. Vineet Kumar Singh as Kavi Kalesh has done wonders. Ashutosh Rana also wins hearts.
Directed by Laxman Utekar, this film brings the golden pages of history to life. The way he has chosen to tell the story will be greatly liked by the audience.
'Chhava' is a magnificent period drama, which is a great blend of history, emotions, and tremendous action. Vicky Kaushal's powerful acting, शानदार (shandaar - magnificent) direction, and excellent story make it a masterpiece. This film should be watched by every Indian, especially those who are interested in history and heroic tales.
