Is Jai Baba Bank Chor the next Ganpati Visarjan Favourite?

As Champak Chandrakant Chiplunkar from Chinchpokli, who goes into a bank in a ‘Baba’ outfit to rob it, Ritriesh Deshmukh’s Marathi Manoos turn in the Bank Chor trailer has left everyone in splits. Since Riteish himself hails from the Maharashtra town Latur and is a pukka Mumbaikar, his connect with the Maharashtrian audience is second to none. So with Bank Chor, Riteish wanted to return some of the love that he gets from the region in the form of a catchy massy number. And hence came ‘Jai Baba Bank Chor’.

Riteish specifically wanted the song to the kind of chartbuster number that would play non-stop during Ganpati Visarjan, Mumbai and Maharashtra’s biggest festival. And composer Rochak Kohli delivered with exactly the kind of thumping, crazy, dhinchaak track in ‘Jai Baba Bank Chor and got the current king of rowdy chartbusters Nakash Aziz to sing on it.’
Says Riteish, “My song ‘Dil Mein Baji Guitar’ has become so iconic that it still plays at all visarjans till date. And it’s really heartwarming to me to see the love of people who go crazy dancing to it. With Jai Baba Bank Chor I wanted a similar song - one that gets your body moving and feet tapping, as if you are in celebration. Being a Mumbaikar, the Ganpati festival is my favourite time of the year and I hope with Jai Baba Bank Chor, my fellow Maharashtrians and Mumbaikars get another fun number to dance on!”

Along with Riteish, Bank Chor also stars Vivek Anand Oberoi and Rhea Chakraborty, and is the story of 3 idiots who go to rob a bank on the worst possible day, when everything that can go wrong goes wrong!
